What is ActiveSafe?

ActiveSafe is a grassroots movement dedicated to making exercise in public spaces safe, inclusive, and harassment-free for everyone. Whether on our streets, along our towpaths, in swimming pools, or in green spaces, we champion the right to feel confident, protected, and empowered while being active.

Collaboration

Working with stakeholders, from grassroots clubs to policymakers, landowners to national governing bodies, to co-create practical, scalable solutions.

Data & Evidence

Gathering data and lived experiences, both positive and negative, to highlight the prevalence and impact of harassment and the benefits of exercise in public spaces, driving evidence-based change.

Safe Spaces Network

Building a network of recognised Safe Spaces that can be used when an incident occurs or someone feels threatened while exercising.

Training & Development

Providing training for outdoor activity leaders to prevent, identify, and respond to harassment-related issues.

Raising Awareness

Speaking out about the harm caused by harassment and its impact on participation, confidence, and health, inspiring behaviour change.

Community Support

Supporting local events and initiatives that empower vulnerable individuals to get outdoors, get active, and feel part of a safe community.
