ActiveSafe Survey

Building Safer Environments for Every Member

Public Harassment and personal safety are significant barriers to physical activity across the UK. Recent research involving individuals from various sporting backgrounds has highlighted a sobering reality:

  • 45% of people have felt unsafe while exercising.
  • 72% have experienced verbal harassment.
  • 42% have proactively changed their routes or training plans due to safety concerns.

While many clubs feel these issues do not affect their specific membership, there is often a gap between a member's private experience and what is formally reported to a committee. ActiveSafe is conducting this nationwide survey to understand how clubs currently engage with the subject of PH and whether they possess the tools to support their members effectively.

Why Your Input Matters

Whether your club has a robust safety policy or you feel that harassment is not a prevalent issue in your local area, your feedback is vital. This survey will help us identify:

  • How clubs currently communicate about safety and PH.
  • The existing reporting mechanisms available to members.
  • The barriers preventing clubs from accessing PH workshops and support tools.

The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. All responses will be used to help ActiveSafe and connectMyClub develop better resources, training, and support frameworks for clubs and groups across the UK.
